Online Processing Limitation:

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are made in sufficient time to meet required deadlines. Your deadline for payment is the Court Arraignment date on your citation.
  • If your citation is delinquent, you are responsible for any late fees, subpoena fees, warrant fees and collection fees associated with your citation.  If your citation does not display, there may be some problem with accessing your citation or it may not be payable in advance of Court.

  • You have the legal right to contest this citation and have a trial before the court. By handling this citation by payment, you understand that you are pleading guilty to this offense and waiving your rights to a trial. You understand that your plea of Guilty will have the same force and effect as a judgment of conviction by the Court. A record of this conviction will be sent to the Driver's License Division of the Alabama Department of Public Safety(and then to the state in which you are currently licensed to drive, if outside of the state of Alabama).
  • To process your payment online, you will need your Citation Number (including the first letter) and last name, or your Driver's License Number and last name. You may pay your citation online with a debit or credit card; there is a convenience fee that is charged by the credit card processor and does not go to the Municipal Court.
  • To process your payment by telecommunication, you will need your Citation Number (including the first letter) and last name, or your Driver's License Number and last name. You may pay your citation by telecommunication with a debit or credit card; there is a convenience fee that is charged by the credit card processor and does not go to the Municipal Court. 

To avoid this fee, you must pay in person with cash, money order or cashier's check; or mail a money order or cashier's check to the Elberta Municipal Court.

Instructions to Defendant


You have been charged with a traffic offense within the Jurisdiction of the Municipal Court of Elberta, Alabama.  You have the right to a trial. 

You must be in court for a trial at the Elberta Town Hall located at 13052 Main Street, Elberta, Alabama at 3:30 p.m. on the date specified on your citation.


 If you have not taken care of the citation in another manner prior to the Court date, failure to do so may result in arrest, additional expenses and the loss of your driver's license.


     If you have not been convicted of two or more traffic violations within the past year and are charged with one of the offenses listed above and wish to PLEAD GUILTY and pay the Fine and Costs, you may do so by mail, ON-LINE, TELECOMMUNICATION or in person at the ELBERTA Municipal Court office. 

Your payment must be mailed in time to arrive at the MUNICIPAL Court by the court date shown on the citation.
